Pilates Research: Does Pilates help?
The results of training with Pilates exercises
Although Pilates has been around decades, only during the last 10 years people have discovered the many benefits of Pilates. For some reason, pilates exercises simply weren't special enough to be of any interest to the majority of people back then. The mystical background of yoga, the apparent results of heavy fitness training or, more recent, the interesting combination of music and training with spinning and zumba simply appealed to the masses more. Yet, Pilates has always been there, and will probably be here for quite some time, for the results of Pilates are exceptional and are starting to get more and more recognised.
Scientific Research
Training programs in general have obviously attracted the scientific world as well, for many instructors claim the most wonderful things about their training programmes. Recent research (sept 2009) has found a significant difference in both flexibility and muscular endurance when it comes to Pilates training. Many other things were found as well, have a look at the excerpt at Goliath.
